Financing a Car Right after Bankruptcy

The switch moves but the window does not budge. Don't despair: you can repair the power window yourself and save a bundle over expensive dealership charges. Sometimes the switch is dirty causing the window to malfunction. Remove the door panel for the affected window.

Tighten the bolts holding the new regulator and reinstall the moisture barrier. Engage the power window switch and the new regulator should work unimpeded.

Of course, follow your car's repair manual for specific instructions.

Financing a car after bankruptcy is a little tricky when you're dealing with local banks and dealerships. Many lenders want to see that your credit has been re-established before they will give you any car credit. The simple fact that a new car has a lower cost of upkeep due to the manufacturer's bumper to bumper warranty, makes lenders more apt to approve you for a new car than a used car after bankruptcy.
